Just another day in Paradise!

These cards were created using a Tim Holtz stamp and a Heartfelt Creations stamp..."Just another day in Paradise!" (Phil Vassar)

The country scene by Heartfelt Creations was stamped on white paper using black dye ink.  The old truck by Tim Holtz was also stamped on white paper using black dye ink.

The scene was colored using a variety of dye/chalk inks and daubers to apply the ink.  After the scene was colored, I used a make-up sponge and applied a layer of yellow dye ink over the entire surface.





After the pictures were colored, they were covered with Versamark clear pigment ink, sprinkled with clear embossing powder.

The embossing powder was heated until it melted, forming a clear finish on the printed scenes.  I use a 6inchx6inch ceramic tile and 12inchx12inch ceramic tile when heating embossing powder on paper.  The tiles protect the table surface and help to heat the paper surface evenly.

The card is assembled by adhering the scene to a mat, using pop-dots to adhere the truck to the scene, and glue a verse to the scene.  Note the differences in the cards.  The same ink was used for all the cards.  The difference comes when applying the ink and the embossing powder.

I bought this stamp recently.  This is not usually my style, but I have 3 sisters and this stamp "jumped" into my buggy!!  :0)

Cards using CREATE A CRITTER Cricut Cartridge and the CREATE Personal Cutter! That sure is a lot of C's!

These are the first cards that I made on my new CREATE Personal Cutter from ProvoCraft.  What a wonderful little machine!  I can die-cut at my craft table without getting up!  I love the way it cuts!

I am using CREATE A CRITTER Cricut Cartridge that was included when I bought the CREATE!

Cards using STORYBOOK Cricut Cartridge

I was so excited when the STORYBOOK Cricut Cartridge came out!  I paid full price and ordered on-line...I thought it was the most beautiful cartridge I had ever seen!  And...it still is!  Sometimes I forget how easy it is to create something beautiful with this cartridge.

Here are several cards that I made using the marquee cut and some really beautiful embellishments that I found in the clearance bin at Michael's craft store.

ROCK PRINCESS Butterflies!

I won ROCK PRINCESS Cricut Cartridge at a make-and-take by Robyn at the Dallas Cricut Stampede in March.  I created these cards using scraps and the last image on the cartridge...a beautiful butterfly!

The butterfly (and the layers) is cut at 3 1/4 inches, outlined with a black Gelly Roll pen, and pop-dotted!

APRIL!!!...where did MARCH go!!!

Oh, my goodness...what a month March was for me! 

First, the Atlanta Circle Meet-Up...March 4, 2011

Then lots of work creating Cricut Circle Calling Cards and packing for the Dallas Stampede event!

Unhappy ending to a fabulous Dallas Stampede Weekend...

My large rolling tote and over-the-shoulder bag was stolen on Sunday night at the hotel.  It is not a very pleasant way to end such a wonderful weekend! 

I really miss my large, red ATG gun!  I had to buy the pink one at Michaels.  I want my large, red ATG gun back...boo hoo!!!

The biggest loss was the 30 handmade cards that I made during the Stampede.  Plus the 250-300 stamped sentiments that I had created to use with my cards!  Oh, well...most of the sentiments were Bible scriptures and lots of Easter images.  Maybe the criminals needed these??!!

Now, I will find out if NATIONWIDE is really "on my side"!!!

Then...I got a really wonderful, huge gift from LAURA LEE from the Cricut Message Board...

And the month is still not over...

I celebrated my birthday this month!  My husband bought lots of storage boxes for my craftroom.  My daughter and her husband bought me 4 Cuttlebug cut/emboss folders!  Plus lots of well-wishes and cards from friends and family!!

Finally...I signed a 6-month lease on space in a local antique/art mall to sell handmade greeting cards!  I have been busy making cards and getting packaging ready for the big day...April 1!  I have two card racks to fill...

Thanks to my daughter, Amanda, I got the card racks filled and met the April 1 deadline....Thank you, Amanda!!!!
