My Life Scripture

Philippians 4:4-7 (ESV English Standard Version) Holy Bible
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let the reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus.

Snowman Gift Tag!

Front of Snowman Gift Tag
Back of Snowman Gift Tag!
The tag is made using a charm image from Cricut Cartridge "Doodlecharms" and the Snowman image from Cricut Circle Exclusive Cartridge "Paper Trimmings".
I placed one a snowman on the charm (tag) to cut out an opening for the snowmen.
I used the Gypsy and a 6x12 mat to layout the images and layers.
I made a 'mirror' image of one snowman and the layers to create the backside of the tag.
I cut out two of the mats using blue cardstock for the mat.  I 'sandwiched' a piece of clear plastic between the two tags.
I cut two snowmen from glitter paper.  One snowman is a 'mirror' image of the other.  As I cut several of the mats, I used various colors for the layers.  A paper punch by Martha Stewart was used to cut the holly and berries.
The two sides of the tag are glued together with clear plastic between.  The clear plastic will be used to adhere the snowmen to the tag.
Pop-dots of glue are used to give dimension to the tag.
Blue Snowflake Ribbon from Michaels Craft Store
Large Snowflake paper punch from Martha Stewart
White Gel Pen used to create 'stitching' around card
Little heart paper punch with 'stitching'
"To" stamped on the front
"From" stamped on the back

This tag will be entered into the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge...

Winter Magic! DCWV

I made these cards on Sunday after a trip to Michaels Craft Store!
All the Christmas packs of paper were a Sunday Special at $7.88 each!
Plus, I had a 25% coupon on everything as a Gold Club Member!
This was an awesome shopping day! :0)
All the papers are from "Winter Magic" by DCWV!
Isn't it beautiful!  I will probably get a head start on Christmas cards for 2012!
Here are a couple of other tools that were on sale!
'ek success' edge punch!  The scallops are so beautiful!
'Martha Stewart" ornament punch!  2 for 1 punch...ornament and a snowflake!
The letters are from a Cuttlebug font set.  I love to find these sets at clearance price!
I have several sets that I bought for less than $8!  They are wonderful when you only need a few letters!
Thank you, M'Liss, for the adorable snowman embellishment!
The crosses on the hill and the sentiment are from silver outline stickers.

Merry Christmas to all!

Oh, Holy Night!

A mini-album Christmas Card!  This is totally out of my comfort zone, but I sure did have fun making this project!  The paper is from DCWV "Warm Winter Wishes", the stamp set is from Recollections, and the tree and card shape is from Cricut Cartridge "Joys of the Season".  The crinkle ribbon is a gift from Shelia, The Sassy Lady!
The title "Oh, Holy Night" is stamped and heat embossed on a clear plastic sheet.  The next page is the Three Wise Men as they make their journey East following the Star.
The Wise Men are suppose to be going East, but the stamp set had them heading West!  So, I got to use my "Mirrow Image Stamp" for the very first time!  It worked beautifully!!
I inked the stamp with "Watermark" ink, pressed the stamp on the rubber side of the "Mirror Image Stamp", then stamped the clear Vellum.  The image was almost as perfect as the original!
I used gold embossing powder and heat set the image on the Vellum.
More heat embossed images from the Recollections set.  I added a few trees from a paper punch and a "Merry Christmas" sentiment using outline stickers.
The final stamp from the Recollections set is heat embossed.  The printed sentiment is from a "Papercraft" magazine.  I left space for comments and a signature.
Merry Christmas to all!

The Joy of Ribbons!

THE FANTABULOUS CRICUT CHALLENGE for this week is to use ribbon!
This is my contribution!  The card is from the Cricut Cartridge "Joys of the Season".  The front is covered in scraps of ribbon that are lined horizontally on paper and attached to the inside front of the card.
This is the card and the insert.  I run one of the white ornament shapes through a Xyron and then centered the ribbon to form the front of the card.
Then the extra pieces of ribbon where cut away.
The ribbon piece was glued to the inside of the card front.  A round piece was punched for the inside of the card.  The edges were blinged out with gold Stickles.
Inside of card.  A little holly embellishment and a sentiment finishes out the inside.  The white surface can be used to add notes.  A half circle could be added to the inside front cover and a gift card slid into the pocket!
After the season, the card front could be used as a tree ornament!
I keep ribbon scraps!  Now I have a wonderful use for these little beauties!
I am looking forward to Valentines Day to create more of these Ribbon Cards!

Have a wonderful day!  Thank you for visiting my blog!

Thank You Gift!

This is a set of small Christmas cards that I made using rosettes that I made over the past few weeks.  These cards are a gift to a local printing company.
Here is the package of Christmas cards.  The little bag is made using the Cricut Cartridge "Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More" .  I used a 12x24 mat and cut it to fit the mat.  The sticker is from my stash.  The little gingerbread man is a tag that was made by Paulette Trent.  I got the tag during a tag swap at the Greenville, South Carolina Circle Meet-Up!
The little Cricut Guys are giving their approval!
More rosettes in-waiting!

Thank you for visiting my blog!  Have a wonderful weekend!

45 Cards and Counting...

Over the last couple of months I have created at least 45 (+) Christmas cards!
Thanks to challenges, contests, and the Christmas spirit, I have
had THE MOST FUN creating cards!

Now...
I must address these creations and send them!
I make cards all the time, but I AM THE WORST about mailing them!
Thank goodness for a church project that hands out cards for the members!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Santa's Sleigh!

Santa's sleigh is loaded and ready for his big night!
The card base is two sleighs welded together.  I flipped the one on the left and overlapped the pieces to form the weld.  I cut two of the card bases...one in red and one in white.  The sleigh is from the Cricut Cartridge "Winter Woodland"
A Gypsy tip...I created this project using the Gypsy and a 12x12. I cut all the images from one sheet of cardstock (the main color) and kept the template.
I used the template to cut the exact size of contrasting paper that I needed.
I secured the small pieces of paper to the mat using painter's tape.  It is important to have the paper secure to the mat.  The moving blade will cause the small pieces to come loose.
Here are the contrasting images cut from scrap paper.
The red card base is run through the Xyron.  Then it is adhered to the white card base.
The red and white card bases are glued together using the Xyron adhesive.
The black sleigh image is adhered to the red shadow.
Foam tape is used to put on the next layer.  I wanted to leave space to add presents to the sleigh.
I cut a piece of clear acryllic and glued it into the space where the presents will go.  This will give me a base to glue the gifts down.  I will trim off the excess plastic later.
The assortment of gifts are from stickers, Jolee embellishments,  and the Cricut Cartridge "Sweethearts"
The sleigh is glued to the front of the card base.
To add strength to the card, a card front was created using dark blue cardstock.  The cardstock is embossed with the Cuttlebug folder "Snowflakes".
Before the paper is embossed, the folder is covered with ColorBox "Frost White" pigment ink.
While the ink is still wet, the surface is covered with Holographic embossing powder and heated.  The completed card is glued to another piece of cardstock to increase the strength even more.  The edges are rounded with a paper punch.
View of card.  A sentiment is stamped on the outside.  A few holly leaves and berries add to the decoration.
The sleigh opens to reveal the sentiment and place for a signature.
Close up view of presents!

I had a small crafting accident while making this card...
Don't squeeze the Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive bottle too hard!  Fortunately, everything cleaned up nicely!  Even...me...
