My Life Scripture

Philippians 4:4-7 (ESV English Standard Version) Holy Bible
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let the reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus.

Too Cute!

The hubby and I were watching "Too Cute" on Animal Planet the other night.
Lily was sleeping in her usual place (of honor) on a blanket on the couch.
Suddenly, she sat up, turned toward the TV....
Ran over to the TV, stood up on her hind legs to get a better view!
She heard a bunch of little puppies playing and barking.  Lily wanted to get a good view of all this cuteness!  She did this several times over the next hour!

December Daily---December 1, 2, 3, and 4!

This is my December 1, 2012, entry for the December Daily project that I am planning to participate in this month.  The Bethlehem Baptist Church Singing Saints were invited to sing at the opening celebration of the holiday season at Unicoi State Park near Helen, Georgia.  I am a member of the group and we are honored to be a part of this event.  Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious meal at the Unicoi Lodge buffet!
December 2, 2012, the Singing Saints were featured during the morning worship service at Bethlehem and then we presented our Christmas program in the evening service.  The Tallulah Falls School presented a program of handbells before we sang in the evening service.
This was a wonderful day of Christmas music with bells and voices!!
December 3, 2012, began a 2-day crop with my sisters.  I have a blog entry that gives the details.  http://cccscraproom.blogspot.com/2012/12/sisters-papercrafting-retreat-on.html
Here is my December Daily entry for today!
December 4, 2012, the second day of our crop!  There are no pictures of me because I was the only one taking pictures!  My sisters were too busy creating!!

Today is December 12!  I am only 8 days behind in my December Daily!!

Sisters Papercrafting Retreat on the Chattahoochee River

I have three sisters and we get together for retreats as often as possible.
On December 3 and 4, we met in Atlanta at Ruth's home and had a papercrafting retreat in her art studio that overlooks the Chattahochee River.
This picture was taken after a full day of paper crafting!
I am the scrapbooking queen of our sisters' group!  So, I loaded up my Scrappy Wagon and brought as many papercrafting supplies and equipment as I could get in my car!
This is a photo of the area where we were working just before we left to get some sleep!
Yes, we went to bed!
I created workstations for everyone, this was mine.
However, I didn't get very many projects done or started. I was having a blast showing the sisters how to use the Cricut Expression and the Cuttlebug!!
We were using the Gypsy with the Expression.
Gifts galore!!  After all, it is Christmas!!
My gift to the sisters was bringing the equipment and supplies for our papercrafting retreat!
However, I found these absolutely adorable socks at Big Lots several months ago.  I knew the sisters would love to have a pair.  Well, one sister had the brilliant idea to mix up the pairs! So we all have two different cute little critters for our feet!  This will be a fun reminder of our two days together!
Eating dinner by candlelight!
Isn't this beautiful!
A beef/veggie slow cooker soup, tossed salad, and cornbread!
A meal that deserves silver, cloth napkins, and candlelight!
Nothing is too good for our sisters group!
Lucy is an early bird like me!  She and I were up crafting before the other two sisters got out of bed!  Lucy made lots of Christmas tags using the Cuttlebug and Expression.
Ruth used the Expression and Gypsy to create Christmas tags and Christmas cards.  She was a fast learner on using the Gypsy and Expression!
Marie was all about the Cuttlebug!  She cut out lots of rosettes that will be used on gifts for her Sunday School class.  Marie also made Christmas cards.  She packed her projects before I could take pictures...
Lucy's tags using Cuttlebug dies.  Lucy learned to use stamps and ink, too!
Lucy's Christmas tags made using the Expression.  The poinsettias that she made are using the Cuttlebug Poinesettia Set.
Ruth's Christmas cards!  She was so pleased with the negative and positive of this image from "Inspired Heart", that she used both on her card!
Ruth's Christmas Tags!

Well, that is about all from our papercrafting retreat that I will post here...
We had so much fun together, and they want to have a 2 or 3 night crop next time!
I think I have created a new cropping group!  Yea!!!

However...
I wanted you to see what we saw everytime we looked out the windows toward the Chattahoochee River!  I will say...this complex is the home of TP...this home has hosted stars of all sorts, elected officials (even the BIG ONE), talk show hosts, and much more....
Enjoy the view!

Thank you for visiting my blog today!
Have a marvelous weekend!
Comments are loved and appreciated!

DECEMBER DAILY Album Cover and First Page

This is the cover and a section of the first page of my
DECEMBER DAILY ALBUM
I am using a 12 inch x 12 inch album from
YourStory by ProvoCraft
This is the cover without the first page.
Cricut Cartridge cuts have been used to create the holly and stars.
The frame is from a Christmas tree Cricut cut.  The rick rack is from my stash.
I cut the holly leaves from a Cricut cartridge and then covered it with clear Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel.   This makes the ivy stronger and glossy.
The stars are cut from DCWV Glitsy Glitter cardstock.
Close up of the insert from the first page.
The tree and stars from cut from DCWV Glitsy Glitter cardstock.
The base Christmas tree is regular green cardstock.  The top Christmas tree is cut from glitter cardstock and glued down with dimensional foam tape to add depth.
The numbers are from Cricut Cartridge "Designer's Calendar".  The numbers were run through the Xyron and then sprinkled with Martha Stewart fine red glitter.  Then adhered to the background with dimensional foam tape.
First page
The background paper is glitter cardstock
The banner is made from ornament outline Cricut images, DCWV Glitsy Gitter gold cardstock, eboxy letters, gold cord, and a holly image.
The ornament outline was glued to a circle of glitter paper.  The epoxy letter was adhered to the center.  The ornaments were glued to the gold cord with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.
The ornaments are glued to the background paper with Zots glue dots.
Closer view of the ornament banner
The words are cut from Cricut Cartridge "Designer's Calendar".  A beautiful red and white glitter paper was used for the letters.  A strip of gold ribbon was added across the bottom
Cricut Cartridges "Joys of the Season" and "Designer's Calendar" were used.
The images were cut using the Cricut Gypsy and Cricut Expression 2
A variety of supplies were used to create the cover and first page
DECEMBER DAILY is an on-going project for at least 4-5 weeks.
Organization of the pages, images, paper, and other information is critical.
I have a large plastic box to hold most of the items, a smaller plastic box, a couple of plastic paper holders, and a drawer divider to hold small pieces.  I do not want to hunt for items when I get to working on a page.  This helps me stay organized and ready for the next day!

Tomorrow is December 1, 2012!
I have my cover and first page ready and an idea of what I will be doing for tomorrow's daily.
This has been a good crafting day!

###################################################################
I have committed to a project called "December Daily".
This will be a chronicle of my life during the month of December 2012.
Each day of December through January 1, 2013 will be highlighted.
This is the beginning!  My plans/events/activities/etc are listed and I will now begin creating the pages for the 12x12 inch album.
My 'helpers' will be a Cricut Mini Electronic Die Cut Machine used with a Cricut Gypsy, and a YourStory Bookbinder and Laminater.  I plan to use a variety of images from several Cricut Cartridges to illustrate my December Daily happenings!

As a cardmaker, I am stepping out of my comfort zone!  This will be an interesting project!
I would like to thank Sara Andrews for motivating me to try this new experience.
Visit Sara's blog for her December journey, too!

Have a fabulous day!  Please visit again as I post my December Daily journey!

Ok...I have to add...My December Daily will be created from my stash of papercrafting supplies and equipment!  I am involved in a "Using My Stash" challenge through the Cricut Circle Message Board, actually, I am the leader...so I MUST be an EXAMPLE!!

Again, have a marvelous day!
