My Life Scripture

Philippians 4:4-7 (ESV English Standard Version) Holy Bible
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let the reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus.

Pictures from the Prison Scrapbook Contest!!

I am so excited about today's post that I can hardly type!!
I have pictures from the Scrapbook Contest that two friends and I judged a few weeks ago!!
Please click on this post for more information about the Scrapbook Contest before looking at the pictures!!

Here are the pictures from this wonderful experience!
Three classes created the scrapbooks and one winner was chosen from each class.
The three winners are shown below.
"Past, Present, Future"

Scrapbook 1
The scrapbooks were created with construction paper, Cricut cuts, magazine pictures, and personal photos (if available).
Inside Scrapbook 1
The theme for the scrapbooks was "Past, Present, Future".
The inmates were to use magazine pictures to give a reflection of their lives from past experiences, their life at the present time, and what they want their future to be like.
Scrapbook 2
There were very few personal photos for the scrapbooks.  The ladies did a marvelous job selecting magazine pictures for their scrapbooks!
Inside Scrapbook 2
The contestants used newspaper stories, phrases and words to tell their stories.
Some of the glossy pictures did not photograph too well.
Scrapbook 3
The story behind these scrapbooks is fabulous!  If you haven't read the link at the beginning of this post, please take a few moments to click on it!  A wonderful benefactor gave a tremendous gift to the Mental Therapy department at the prison.  The gift of papercrafting machines, tools, and equipment was extremely generous!  The front of all the scrapbooks was created using the Cricut Expression and/or Cricut Imagine.

More photos to reflect the theme...

What a wonderful blessing to be asked to participate in this activity!  I came away with a deep appreciation for the Mental Health Therapy program at Lee Arrendale State Prison.  The Activity supervisor, teachers, and assistants work tirelessly to create lesson plans, events, and special projects for the inmates. I look forward to the next big adventure!

Thank you for visiting my blog today!
