Easy Fan Rosettes!

Easy Rosettes made from a Chinese fan!

These fans are available at most Chinese restaurants.  They are usually very inexpensive and have wonderful colors and designs.  The paper is already folded!

Just think...no score board, rulers, bone folders, sore fingers!

I pulled the edges of the paper away from the plastic holder.  Then cut the folded paper away from the holder at the base.

The edges were trimmed to create a straight fold on each side.

The folded paper can then be cut into the desired length.  I used regular sissors to cut through the paper.  The paper is very soft and can be easily molded back into shape.

The ends are glued together and allowed to dry.  I used Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.

These rosettes form so easily!  It was like they couldn't wait to be a rosette!

These rosettes are staying in place without any type of glue!

They are simply laying on the table!  Isn't that wonderful!

This card was made using one of the rosettes in the previous picture.

This rosette was the first rosette I made using a Chinese fan.  I purchased the little metal fan at the same restaurant.  I found the Chinese character on the internet and colored a bird that I had in my stash to match the bird on the fan.

I plan to take this to the restaurant where I bought the fans!

I told the owner I would bring her one of the cards that I made using the fans.

More Cricut Leftovers!

The bushel basket and candies are from the Cricut Cartridge "Doodlecharms".

"thanks" is from a Cricut Cartridge, too!

Sentiment inside card!

The frame is from the Cricut Circle Exclusive Cartridge "French Manor".

The embossed images are from the Cuttlebug All-in-One Kit "Songbird".

I plan to post how to use the Cuttlebug All-in-One Embossing Folder/kit in the future.

Inside sentiment!

The shoe and shadow was cut from the Cricut Cartridge "Gypsy Wanderings".

This image came preloaded on the Gypsy, a  handheld design studio for the Cricut die cutting machines.  The Gypsy and all Cricut products are made by ProvoCraft.

The beads were given to me by a friend at a recent crop!

I put a blob of Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive on the top of the shoe and added beads until I was happy with the design.  Then let it dry overnight.

This image was leftover from 2011 Christmas cards.

Tim Holtz "idea-ology" paper was used.

I added some clear gem stones for interest.

I used a Copic Marker to color the flower and then added a gem!

March 2012 Cardmaker Magazine Sketch #28!

This is my inspiration from the sketch!

CardMaker Magazine Sketch #28 Challenge (Page 82)

The card started with a blank craft paper card base from "Paper Studio".

I inked the edges with Dew Drop "Starlite Black" Brilliance Pigment ink.

All cardstock used on the card is from Tim Holtz "idea-ology" collection paperstack.

The rosette was made using a Tim Holtz rosette die. A Marvy scalloped circle paper punch and Martha Stewart button paper punch were used.  Assorted gems and stick pins were used.

Stamped Sentiment Storage!

I enjoy buying and using stamps with sentiments!  All kinds of sentiments!

I store wood block sentiment stamps on the wall of my craftroom

using a peg board and narrow wooden strips of wood.

I store acryilic sentiment stamps in large 3-ring notebooks!

I love to make cards!  One day I was looking for just the right sentiment for a card!

I had a brilliant thought!

Why not go ahead and stamp a bunch of sentiments and have them ready for use!

Thus began a nearly 2-week project!

I stamped all my sentiments (6-8 times each) on white paper using 'StazOn' ink.

I used 'StazOn' because it dries quickly and Copic Markers will not blur the edges!

I allowed a large margin around the sentiments. 

This will make the stamped sentiment easy to use on a card or project!

As I finished stamping a sentiment, I would put the copies into a small plastic bag.

I used the jewelry bags from Walmart.

Then the bags were sorted according to use and stored in boxes from Walmart.

I color coded the different categories of sentiments.

I labeled the outside of the boxes for easy use!

Here are a few of the cards that I made this weekend at a crop!

I carried the boxes of sentiments and made them available for my cropping buddies.

I had so many compliments on the idea!
