Quick and Easy Collage Cards using DCWV "The Heirloom" Stack!

Collage cards are beautiful!  They are a little tricky for me.  I can't seem to combine layers and embellishments too well, so I use lots of examples from collage card artists!  However, I found a quick and easy way to make collage cards...very little layering and embellishments!

These pages are designed for scrapbooking, but they make wonderful collage cards!

The images are already layered!

I found this set of Fiskars sentiment clear stamps at Joann's.  They are perfect for the cards!

I will show the page that was used and then the card I created.

Each card measures 5 inch x 7 inch when folded.

All the "layers" are from the top left corner of the paper.

The background paper is from the stack, too!

The sentiment is printed on paper and layered on Vellum.

I created all of these cards in about 2 1/2 hours.

 The fabulous papers from DCWV "The Heirloom" Stack made these cards quick and easy!

A Birthday Celebration!

Today is my birthday and I want to share the celebration with you!

The one and only birthday party that I have had in my life happened in Kindergarten!

It was a complete surprise!  I remember the party had an Easter theme and we had tiny biscuits with lots of butter and Jelly Beans!  This was one of the most exciting events in my young life.  Our family was large and we didn't have money for birthday parties, so this was a momenteous event in my life!  I felt so special!

On Sunday, April 1, my daughter is hosting another Birthday Celebration for me!

We are having a Sunday Dinner with my friends and family in the old farmhouse that has been in our family for generations!  This will be another special day for me!

Lots of Creativity Going on Around Here!

This week has been dedicated to making cards for my sister.  She has given me ideas for cards that she would like to have made.  We have worked together to create most of these cards.  This has been a wonderful week because of visiting and creating with my sister.  However, I still have an empty place in my heart for my little furbaby, Maxwell, that was put to sleep on Monday.  Healing of my heart has begun, in large part to this wonderful week on Jekyll Island with my sister!

I made a collection of Easter cards for my sister's grandchildren. I bought two packages of  felt Easter embellishment from Michaels Craft Store.

I used supplies from my traveling crop stash.

The leaves are cut from a Tim Holtz die using my Cuttlebug.

The flowers are a Spellbinders spiral die.  The paper is from DCWV "Garden Party".

These notecards are created using the negative image from the Tim Holtz branch die.

All paper is DCWV (various stacks).

The sentiment was a $1.00 stamp from Michaels Craft Store.  I used only part of the stamp.

More felt!  The border is a punch by EK Success that was on clearance at Joann's Store.

This card has a double front opening.

I cut slits and attached the ribbon behind the inside of the card.

The inside is a separate piece with the ribbon between the inside and outside of the card.

The last felt Easter card!

The next series of cards are for a man.  The cards are one piece with the writing area on the back, very similar to a postcard.  The scripture verses are from a set of clear stamps that was a gift from my friend in South Africa, Erna.

The stamps are from "JustRite Clear" and are designed to be used with Spellbinders dies.

This card was created using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Spellbinders dies, and a sticker from "Studio112" Thank You Dimensional Stickers.

The next few cards were made by cutting a window into the card front and adding "Thinking of You" sentiment.  A strip of colorful cardstock was added.  The inside of the card allows room for a written message.  Spellbinder dies and Cuttlebug dies

were used to create the windows.

An assortment of paper was used, however DCWV matstacks were the main source of patterned paper.

Hello, from Jekyll island, Georgia!

I am spending this week on Jekyll Island with my sister.  We are sprucing up their Villa at "Villas By The Sea" getting it ready for the coming season!

Today is a very emotional day for me!

I am visiting one of the most beautiful places on earth and I just found out that my darling daughter is planning a birthday day dinner for my 60th birthday!

However, we have had to put our 10 year old Rat Terrier furbaby to sleep this morning.

He had serious health issues that would involve extensive hospital stay, meds, tests, and over all 'stuff'.  He was in pain without much relief in sight. 

Maxwell has lived a full life and has been a joy to me.

I will miss Maxwell.

Goodbye, my little one!
